  New Skin Condition Logic Flags
You may notice some new logic flags after your next batch submission.  We have just added a collection of logic flags regarding skin issues that will affect customers who use both CareWatch® and RiskWatch®

These logic flags address two types of situations:  when a skin issue has been reported in the MDS for a resident but no occurrence record is found for it in RiskWatch®; and conversely, when a skin occurrence exists in RiskWatch® but it is not reflected in the MDS assessment for the resident.  To see the text of the logic flags in full, please click the above link.

Kentucky and Texas State Watch Pages
We are pleased to announce that the development of the Kentucky and Texas State Watch pages is complete and that they have been added to the system.  These pages are only available to organizations and facilities in each of these respective states.

The pages contain a series of payment analysis reports that assist in managing CMI values, payer source information, and RUG designations.  Please click the link above to see the complete listing of the State menu analyses for Kentucky and Texas.

More for Washington Watch - CareWatch®
Additional payment analysis links have been added to the Washington State Watch page.     These include:

CMI Watch Census By Payer
CMI Interval Comparison CMI Trend Chart
Medicaid RUG Watch Non-Medicaid RUG Watch

These pages operate the same as the initial links that were added to the Washington state page last month.  They are accessible only to facilities and organizations in the state of Washington and users with Operations and/or Analysis permissions in CareWatch® can view them.  They are available at all levels:  the organization, regional, and facility, depending on your individual user permissions.

For assistance using these reports, please click the "Help This Page" link located in the gold navigation menu to the left of the screen.  If you experience any difficulties with the pages, please report them promptly to us at 937.767.1885.

  Note-Worthy - CareWatch®

  • An occasional error which showed a double log in page when you timed out and then re-logged in has been corrected.
  • We have modified the MDS Details page slightly so that if you receive a "W1" logic flag stating that there is a problem with the National Provider ID, you will now see this data on the page and be able to more easily determine what needs to be corrected.
  • Date validation errors in the Medicare Watch pages have been corrected.
  • A bug fix on the Illinois Watch, "What If Analysis" page which falsely gave a $50 add-on has been implemented.
  • An issue with the default date for the Illinois County Point in Time report has been corrected.  Previously, the date would sometimes default to a date in the future.
  • We have implemented changes for the drill through links on the Resident Alerts and Sentinel Events section of the Home Page which have improved the speed of accessing the drill through data.
  • A printer friendly link has been added to the QI/QM Watch and QI/QM Summary pages.
  • A bug has been corrected in both CareWatch® and RiskWatch® which caused periodic time outs to occur during the "Move Resident" process.

   Note-Worthy - RiskWatch®

  • A warning has been added that will pop up if you enter an occurrence date that is prior to the date settings you have set in your preferences.  This alerts you to the fact that if you continue to add the entry using that date, the occurrence may not show in some places such as on the Investigate menu.
  • An option of "None" has been added to the drop down box for Wound MD Specialist on the Skin Details Report.  If nothing is selected from the drop down box, the system will represent that the same as "None."  This is not a required field.
  • Improvements have been made to the speed with which the Physician list loads for those who have permissions to view the Admin page.
  • The "Notify State Agency" field has been removed from the General page on the Report Entry menu and is now located only on the Alleged Abuse Details page.  With the exception of one organization (per their request), this is no longer a required field.
  • A printer friendly link was added to the drill through pages from the RiskWatch® Home Page.
  • A bug was corrected that caused the wrong number of items to appear for certain links in the drill throughs as compared to the Home Page.
