| Your MDS submission process has just become
easier! We are pleased to announce our newest feature, Transmission
Watch, which allows you to submit your MDS files directly to the state via CareWatch®.
No more dealing with the global dialer issue, no need to submit to CareWatch®
and the state in separate steps--now you can just make your corrections, submit,
and you're done!
Your MDS upload process remains the same; you
still have same in
depth logic flag system that you are used to for accurate, clean assessments, and the robust data driven trending and analyses tools you rely on
are all still available. What you will see with Transmission Watch, is
increased efficiency, ease of use, and overall convenience of the submission
process.

Transmission Watch can be set up to function in one of three ways depending upon
the current process your facilities use to submit their MDS data to the system: - It can be set up to run strictly in the
background so that when you re-submit your corrected assessments to
CareWatch® (your final batch),
they are automatically sent to CMS at the same time.
- You can set it up to run through an external analysis.
- It can be set up to send individual batches to CMS.
When you subscribe to Transmission Watch, these options are chosen on the
Organization MDS Transmission Setup page found under the Administration link on
the gold navigation menu. Only users with Security and Management
permissions in CareWatch®
have access to this page:

Once the organization set up process has been completed for Transmission Watch,
you then have the ability to select which facilities will use the feature.
This is done from the Facility MDS Transmission Setup page, also accessed from
the ADMIN menu:

These initial steps require some behind the scenes set up between your
organization and eHDS, but as always, you can count on our excellent customer
support team to help you all the way. When the set up is complete,
Transmission Watch is available for immediate use by all CareWatch® users with Operations permissions.
In addition to eliminating the cumbersome steps needed to interact and support
the AT&T Global Dialer application, Transmission Watch also provides access to
your CMS reports and allows you to request reports from CMS.
The new MDS Transmission Watch Page allows you to track your batches after you
submit them to CMS so that you will always know where your assessments are in
the process:

The Batch Transmission page also includes drill down to links to both the CMS
Feedback Reports and the Validation Reports:
Click the underlined link, "Feedback," to see your feedback report and
know that your batch was received by CMS:
To receive your Validation Report, click the link, "Validation Rpt:"

The MDS Batch Transmission page also drills down to a CMS Batch Details Report
when you click on the link, "Details." This page shows you a list of the
individual assessments that were submitted to CMS and also displays the status
of each assessment with CMS. The status will indicate that an assessment
was either "Accepted" or "Rejected" by CMS. Further drill downs on this
page show extracted data from the validation report (the link, "Details") and
the option to view the actual MDS (the link, "View"):

CMS Reports and Facility Reports are also available through Transmission Watch.
As seen on the Transmission Watch menu screenshot, there are different links to
request reports and to review them:
|
To request a report from CMS, click the "Request a Report" link.
This opens a new page which allows you to select the specific report you
want from a large drop down list. The page also
allows you to select the facility or facilities for which you want the
report, as well as choose the date range and the format for the report: |
 |

When the report has been requested, it will appear on the CMS Facility Reports
page. This is basically a log of all of the reports that have been
requested. It shows the name of the report that was requested, facility
that requested it, and the status of the report, as well as other identifying
information. The report is ready when the status has changed to "Complete."

Reports can be filtered by date, facility, and report type and are purged after
120 days with the exception of the feedback and validation reports which are
always saved. Users can choose to view, print, or save reports in the
system after they have been created.
Another outstanding feature of Transmission Watch is that scheduled reports from CMS such as the Feedback Report and the
Validation Report are always generated automatically and when they are complete,
the user will receive an automatic email notice telling them that the report is
ready. This eliminates wasting time logging in to see where your reports
are or if batches have been accepted by CMS.
Please note, that in order for the email notification function to work, the user
must have her/his correct email address in the system.
Transmission Watch is a fee for service add on
that can be purchased for every facility in your organization or for specific
facilities in your organization. The cost for use of Transmission Watch is
$300 per year, per facility. This breaks down to $25 per month, per
facility.
Transmission Watch is ready now, we hope that you will take advantage of this
opportunity to streamline your processes, increase efficiency, and add a new
level of convenience to your submission process. To purchase Transmission Watch, please click
here to print out an order form. We look forward to working with you.
