We are still hard at work adding features and functionality to the new CareWatch platform. Newly released are the CMS 802 and 672 Reports, Pain Watch, Continence Watch, the Resident Summary Watch, and the MDS Transmission Enterprise Report. Read on for a brief overview of each.
CMS 802 and 672 Reports
The CMS survey reports are now available in CareWatch and are accessed through the “Tasks” menu button. Users must have the functional area “Survey View” under the Operations role selected to be able to access the “Manage CMS 802/672″ reports links in the Task menu. By default, anyone with the Operations role will have these functional areas checked, therefore, if you do NOT want someone to have access to these pages, you must de-select these areas using the link, “Manage Roles” on the Tasks menu.
The Manage CMS-802/672 pages are static lists of archived worksheets which you can view, print, or delete. Editing is not possible on these pages.
To access the reports:

In order to manually update the reports (make edits), users must click the “Edit CMS-802/672″ link found at the top of the table. A user must have the “Survey Preparation” function selected as part of her/his Operations role for this link to be included on the page. Users who do not have the “Survey Preparation” functionality will only see the “Blank Form” link at the top of the table.
Click the “Edit CMS-802/672 link to open the active worksheet where you can make changes, add residents, or choose to archive the current report (which immediately starts a new one):
When these worksheets are opened each day, CareWatch looks for new residents and adds them to the document based on assessments that have been added/are in the system. This becomes the active, “as of today” working document for both the 802 and 672 reports. If residents have been added but do not yet have an admission assessment in the system, these residents will then need to be added manually to the report using the “Add Resident” link found at the top of the table.

Any time that changes are made to a row in the report, this change affects only the CMS report, it DOES NOT change the resident record in CareWatch. For example, if a resident has been discharged but still appears in a report, a user can manually delete the resident row from the report, however, the resident will continue to appear in future “as of today” reports until a discharge form has been received by CareWatch.
Use of the “Refresh” button under the “Action” column in the table causes all of the data in the selected row to be replaced with the coding from the most recent assessment in the system for that resident. This means that if manual changes have been made to the resident row in the worksheet which do not match the most current assessment, these changes will be lost and the row will show only the coded MDS data.
Further explanation and details of the CMS 802/672 reports are available by clicking the “Help” button at the top of the page.
Links to the CMS instructions for each of the reports are also included in the help text for each page.
New Watch Pages: Pain and Continence
Two more watch pages have been added to CareWatch: Pain Watch and Continence Watch. These pages are available to all users who have the Operations role.
Pain Watch provides an overview of the pain status for the resident population in your facility / organization. It looks at pain factors and resident counts broken out by short term and long term stays, as well as by those residents interviewed and assessed by staff.
How to Access Pain and Continence Watch:
Portlets for the Pain Watch page include: Pain Change in Condition, Pain Frequency, Indicators of Pain (Staff Assessed), and Pain Intensity and Effect on Functions (Interviewed).
Pain Watch:
Continence Watch also displays resident counts based on short term and long term stays, looks at continence issues compared to most prior assessments and since admission to the facility, and shows data related to cognition status and continence.
Continence Watch:

Portlets for Continence Watch include: Level of Bowel Continence with Cognition, Level of Continence, Continence Appliances and Details, Change in Continence: Current versus Most Prior Assessment, Change in Continence: Current versus Admission, Level of Bowel Continence with Cognition with Current Toileting Program (H0500=1), Level of Urinary Continence with Cognition, and Level of Urinary Continence with Cognition with Urinary Toileting Program (H0200C=1).
Resident Summary Watch
The Resident Summary Watch pulls together resident data from each of the Watch reports as well as from the QMs and CATs and compares the data from the most recent assessment in the system to the data from the prior assessment for the resident. This provides a quick overview as to how the resident’s general condition in these areas is progressing.
Watch page information is displayed as either “Improved” or “Deteriorated” with the exception of “Weight,” which lists whether the resident maintained weight, gained weight, or lost weight. Links to specific Watch pages are available in the report so that a user can drill through for more detail as he/she desires.
The Resident Summary:

MDS Transmission Enterprise Report
This new report provides users who take advantage of the eHDS direct transmission feature, Transmission Watch, with a quick overview of the status of assessment transmissions. The report displays transmission information from the organization level to the facility level.
Access the MDS Transmission Enterprise Report:
The report shows the date that assessments were last transmitted to CMS for each facility in an organization that uses Transmission Watch, as well as by the organization regions and organization as a whole. The report also provides counts for assessments that were transmitted late based on the CareWatch Assessments Due table with these transmissions divided into categories for tracking forms, OBRA, and PPS assessments.
In addition, the table shows the count for the number of transmitted assessments that were rejected by CMS (Rejected Non-Duplicate). Drill through links are also provided so that users can access details regarding the facility and late transmissions.
