May 15th, 2012 by NatashaTransmission Watch Alert & 5 Star Reports Notice
May 14th, 2012 by NatashaAttention Transmission Watch users: The CMS CASPER/MDS site went down on 05/14/2012 and, as of the time of this posting, has not yet been restored. Any assessments you have attempted to transmit using Transmission Watch will be ‘pending’ until the CMS site is back online, at which point assessments will automatically transmit.
The Five Star Preview Reports are available as of 05/15/2012. For CareWatch users accessing these reports through Transmission Watch, simply select: Tasks–>MDS Transmission Watch and scroll down to the “CMS Reports” portlet.
For those not using Transmission Watch, follow the instructions below from QTSO on how to access the Five Star Reports:
“The Five Star Preview Reports will be available beginning May 15th. To access these reports, select the CASPER Reporting link located at the top of your MDS State Welcome page. Once in the CASPER Reporting system, click on the ‘Folders’ button and access the Five Star Report in your ’st LTC facid’ folder, where st is the 2-character postal code of the state in which your facility is located and facid is the state-assigned Facility ID of your facility.
Nursing Home Compare will update with April’s Five Star data on May 19th, 2012.
Important Note: The 5 Star Help line (800-839-9290) will be available from May 14th through May 18th, 2012. Provider preview reports will continue to be available on a monthly basis in advance of public posting and will include the dates and hours of helpline availability. In CareWatch, changes were made to the Medicare Resident Roster page (accessed from Reports–>Reimbursement Analysis) based on user feedback. Changes include added ADL and case mix index columns, as well as average CMI, ADL and length of stay by RUG category.
